Course Title- Driver Emergency First Aid Duration: 7 hours Course Aim: •Provides candidate with the skills and confidence needed to administer first aid in emergency situations while on the road. Learning Outcomes and Qualifications: •Seven hours towards Driver CPC Course Content: This Course covers: •First Aid in the Workplace, rules and regulations. •Responsibilities of being a first aider •Communication with a casualty •Breathing and circulation •Action in an emergency •Recovery position •Assess a responsive casualty CPR (including AED)How to conduct CPR using patient contact chest compressions etc and how to and when to use a defibrillator. (Practical) •Casualty injuries, shock, bleeding, fractures, choking, stroke and burns •Moving of casualties (inc spinal injuries). •Practice CPR drills & casualty management

Course title – CPC Driver Awareness Duration: 7 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers are aware of the problems associated with driving vehicles on todays modern roads & and how to mitigate the circumstances. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Understand the reasons for a risk assessment and control measures. •Operator licence conditions. •The importance of adhering to the driver hours regulations. •Tachograph rules. •Have an understanding of the highway code. •Know how to safely load vehicles. •Understand the principles of defensive driving. •Know how to signal manoeuvring vehicles. Course Content: This Course covers: •Risks and hazards associated with driving vehicles and required control measures •Driver licences, driver hours & working time directive •Highway code including road traffic act, radios, speed limits, loads carried, parking. •Defensive driving, vehicle checks, psychological issues, driver attitudes, drugs & alcohol, stopping distances, seat belts. •Gross vehicle weight, axle weight, train weight (MAM), safe loading, projecting loads, escorts. •Safety signs & signals, banks man controls, banks man signals

Course title – Winter Services Operations Duration: 7 hours Course Aim: •To ensure candidates are aware of the risks and hazards associated with manoeuvring vehicles where visibility is limited. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will have a full understanding of: •The importance of risk assessments in relation to banks man duties. •The dangers of and how to avoid the dangers of reversing vehicles. •Recognising the need to adopt a safe working practice and understand manoeuvring operational signals. •How to undertake the task of manoeuvring vehicles under signal control. •The control manoeuvring of vehicles by signals. Seven Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content The Course Covers: •Company, contractual and legal requirements to ensure the highway is clear of ice and snow. •Regulations as they effect winter service operations & how drivers can remain safe. •Regulations as they effect winter service operations & how drivers can remain safe. •Roles and responsibilities when operating winter service vehicles. •Understand how sodium chloride and other de-icing materials assist in keeping the highway free of ice and snow. •Requirements to ensure de-icing materials are spread to create a safe passage for vehicles. •Spreading and ploughing techniques. •Company policy for snow clearance, how to operate plough in a safe and efficient manner, types of ploughs available. •Procedures to adopt when emergencies arise or change in weather conditions. •Requirements for ensuring vehicle and equipment is safe and fit for purpose. Course title - Banksman Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure candidates are aware of the risks and hazards associated with manoeuvring vehicles where visibility is limited. Course title - Driver Regulations Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers have a complete understanding of the regulations appertaining their sphere of work. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Understand the importance of risk assessments in relation to driver regulations. •Understand the requirements of driver CPC. •Know the licensing requirements. •Know the driving hours requirements. •Appreciate the working time regulations. •Understand the requirements of tachograph obligations. •Understand the importance and legal requirements of pre-start vehicle checks. •Understand the loading implications with regards to height, width and overloading. •Understand the consequences of breaking speed limits. Three and a half Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content: This Course Covers: •CPC Driver duties initial and periodic. •The licence categories required for vehicle groups/classes. •Tachographs, principles, application penalties (Practical). •Rules and regulations appertaining to loading, overloading, security height & width towing driving enforcement. •Legal requirements in respect to speed limits and safety belts. •Legal requirements appertaining to vehicle checks, driver responsibilities, defect reporting & DVSA road side checks.

Course title - Driver Towing Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers have a full understanding of the regulations in relation to towing, the dangers of towing and how to avoid them. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Understand the importance of risk assessments in relation to driver towing. •Understand the licensing requirements. •Understand the terminology relating to train weight, gross weight and MAM. •Appreciate and identify different trailer couplings. •Understand the breaking requirements. •Know the lighting requirements for trailers. •Understand the loading requirements and legislation. •Undertake practical trailer manoeuvring. Three and a half Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content This Course Covers: •Rules and regulations relating to Restrictions, licences, vehicles, trailers, train & gross weight, MAM •Correct hitches and consequences of incorrect hitches. •Braking systems identification, un-hitched. •Lighting regulations and trailer board use. •Safe loading techniques. •Sarious scenarios and incidents that have occurred over time. •Vehicle manoeuvring, demonstration (Practical)

Course title - Manual Handling Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers have a full understanding of the kinetics of manual handling thus avoiding back problems, aches and strains. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Understand the importance of risk assessments in relation to manual handling. •Understand the principles appertaining to manual handling. •Understand the legislation surrounding manual handling. •Understand their employers’ duties. •Understand their duties. •Know the correct procedures for: -Lifting. -Carrying. -Pulling. -Pushing; -Transporting. -Team lifting. •Participate in practical manual handling session. Three and a half Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content This Course Covers: •Legislation, regulations. Employers/employees duties. Case law. Company policy. •Generic risk assessment, method, control measures, method statements, generic v specific risk assessments. •hazards associated with manual handling & other related risks. PPE recommendations. •Statistics, musculoskeletal disorders, anatomy. •Safe manual handling techniques. •Practical lifting operations.

Course title - Safe Carraige of Hazardous Goods Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers have a full understanding of the dangers associated with the carriage of hazardous materials and how to avoid problems. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Understand the importance of risk assessments in relation to hazardous goods. •Understand safe systems of work when handling hazardous materials. •Have an appreciation of COSHH regulations. •Understand the quantities and packaging requirements. •Have an appreciation of the PUWER regulations. •Understand procedures to adopt in the event of a dangerous occurrence. •Understand the loading requirements for hazardous substances. Three and a half Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content This Course Covers: •Dangers associated with the mishandling of hazardous materials such as fuel & gas. •Types of general rules when carrying hazardous goods, types of packaging and quantities. •Suitability of vehicles, provision of containers, security, control systems, emergency controls and procedures. •Procedures to follow in the event of fire & accidents. •Loading & security procedures.

Course title - Safety of Loads on Vehicles Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers have a full understanding of load security, the consequences of unsecured loads and how to avoid them. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Understand the importance of risk assessments with regard to safety of loads on vehicles. •Appreciate the basic principles of load security. •Understand load positioning. •Be able to differentiate between anchorage points and tie down points. •Know the different types of load available securing devices. •Understand the authority of DVSA. Three and a half Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content This Course Covers: •Principles of load safety. •How to recognise the correct loading arrangements for differing vehicles. •Where loads should be anchored. •The different types of load restraints and how they are utilised. •General freight loading. •DVSA road enforcement. •Demonstration & candidate ‘hands on’ loading vehicles (Practical)

Course title - Spill Kit Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers have a full understanding of the consequences from a fuel spillage and how to deal with the ensuing consequences. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Understand the importance of risk assessments in relation to spillages. •Understand the definition of a spillage. •Understand the types of spillages they may encounter. •Understand how to identify hazardous materials. •Understand how to identify which spill kit to utilise. •Be able to apply spill kit to varying situations. •Will undertake a practical session applying spill kit. Three and a half Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content This Course Covers: •What is a spillage and how to deal with a spillage. •Demonstration & ‘hands on’ experience for candidates (Practical) •Spillage & Prevention Control.

Course title - Vehicle Fire Safety Duration: 3.5 hours Course Aim: •To ensure drivers have a full understanding of the dangers of vehicle fires, how to avoid and safely tackle if required. Learning Outcomes and Qualification : On completion of the course candidates will: •Appreciate the importance of risk assessments in relation to vehicle fire safety. •Understand the fire triangle. •Understand the common causes of fire. •Be able to identify which extinguisher to utilise. •Be able to identify if extinguisher is serviceable. •Undertake a practical session extinguishing a fire. Three and a half Hours towards Driver CPC Course Content This Course Covers: •Types & causes of fire. •The range of fire extinguishers available their colour markings & types of fire they can be used on. •Demonstration of use of extinguishers on various types of fire (Practical)
